Back in May I submitted three paintings to the Norfolk and Norwich Art Circle’s Summer Exhibition hanging committee and was really pleased to have all three accepted for inclusion in the exhibition which is held in the Hostry in Norwich Cathedral.
The private view took place yesterday evening and I was immensely flattered to discover that one of my works, ‘Afternoon Glow’ had been selected as the front cover image on the exhibition catalogue. The Art Circle has been in existence since 1885 - this is it’s 193rd exhibition - and has included in its membership artists of national and international acclaim such as Arnesby Brown, Alfred Munnings, Edward Seago and Ian Houston. I feel humbled to be featured on the front cover of the exhibition catalogue of such a prestigious group.
And the accolades didn’t end there. The exhibition was opened by Bob Brandt, President of the Institute of East Anglian Artists, who had selected five artists whose work, judged exclusively on its artistic merits, he considered to be worthy of particular mention. I am particularly proud to say I was one of those five and the recipient of an IEA pen.
The exhibition is open until July 2nd and I will be "sitting in" at the on Saturday July 1st from 1 to 4.30 pm. Why not pop in and have a chat. I'd love to see you.
